March 8, 2010 (Washington, DC) - The Darden Restaurants, Inc. Foundation has awarded a grant of $125,000 to the Hispanic College Fund (HCF) in support of the national Hispanic Youth Institute and the HCF Scholarship Program. The Hispanic Youth Institute and the scholarship program are the first two steps in the Hispanic College Fund's development pipeline, which is dedicated to preparing the next generation of Hispanic professionals.


Washington, DC (February 23, 2010) - The Hispanic College Fund and Ashoka's Youth Venture have partnered to award a total of $10,000 to student groups with winning proposals for community improvement projects. The competition opens today and will close on March 26, 2010. Applications can be accessed at www.hispanicyouth.org/institute. A total of up to 20 seed grants, each valued at $500, will be awarded to the teams with the best proposals.


Applications for 2010-2011 Hispanic College Fund scholarships are due today, February 23, 2010. For more information, visit: http://scholarships.hispanicfund.org.
