Scholarships for Uncommon Majors

Do you think your major is uncommon? Do your friends ask you why, of all majors, you picked yours? It is important to realize that majoring in a field that is not common might make you more likely to be awarded scholarship money.

For instance, the Hispanic College Fund offers scholarships for students majoring in:

  • Hospitality—which can include a career in the hotel industry, restaurant management, and much more!

  • Pharmacy—this career allows you to combine your love of chemistry and your love of people!

  • Nursing—being a doctor is not the only way to have a great career in the medical field!

Take advantage of scholarships that are specific to your major. If you are able to demonstrate passion and ability to pursue an uncommon major, you are more likely to receive scholarships.
