Hispanic College Fund College and Career Institute Scholarship Program

The College and Career Institute is a retention program that serves as a one stop resource center that provides college students with financial, social and career support that will reinforce on-time graduation, and ultimately lead to a cohort of successful Hispanic professionals. During the course of the academic year, accepted students will receive a scholarship ranging from $500 - $10,000, advisory phone calls once per term, and graduation cards upon completion of their degree. In addition, students will participate in webinars on several topics, including: Time Management, Transitions (from high school to college, from undergraduate to postgraduate), Financial Literacy, Internships, Character Building, and Networking & Relationship Building.

2012-2013 Eligibility Requirements:

  • Plan to enroll fulltime at an accredited college/university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico for the upcoming academic year
  • Have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident; or, have graduated from a high school in the U.S. after having attended at least three years
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Must commit to meeting program requirements if accepted, including webinar attendance and other activities

NASA One Stop Shopping Initiative
Student Online Application for Recruiting Interns, Fellows, and Scholars (SOLAR)

Undergraduate and graduate students in the science, technology, engineering, mathematics, business, communications, and education disciplines can apply for an internship at one of NASA's centers or NASA associated facilitates located across the nation. Students can apply to fall, spring, summer or year-long opportunities. Currently the application is open for summer and year-long opportunities. Internships in SOLAR are open to U.S. Citizens (either by birth or naturalization). Students can also visit the website for information on opportunities available for International students. McDonald's Hispanic College Fund Scholarship Program

In 2010, McDonald's Family Restaurants of Greater Washington, DC ® partnered with the Hispanic College Fund to expand the scholarship program, McDonald's Educates, and provide additional scholarships to honor Hispanic students in the Greater Washington, D.C., area. In addition to outstanding scholastic achievement, the student who receives this award must demonstrate admirable qualities in leadership, character, and volunteerism.

The mission of McDonald's Family Restaurants of Greater Washington, D.C.®, and the Hispanic College Fund is to educate and develop the next generation of Hispanic professionals. For the past two years, each year we gave 14 scholarships to Hispanic students that totaled to $ 21,000.

Eligibility: The scholarship program is open to high school seniors residing within the Greater Washington, D.C., area - including the District of Columbia and portions of Maryland, Northern Virginia, and West Virginia. Other eligibility requirements include:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident residing in the 50 states or Puerto Rico.
  • Must be from the states of DC, MD, VA, WV
  • Must be a high-school senior pursuing any undergraduate major
  • Must have a minimum GPA of a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Must plan to enroll as a full-time undergraduate student from Fall 2012 - Spring 2013.
  • Must plan to be enrolled in a college or university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico.

2012 Future Latino Leaders Law Camp · Washington, D.C.

Are you currently exploring a career in the legal field? Have you always wanted to see what college and a court room would be like? Well here is your chance! This summer 25 students from across the nation will be chosen to participate in a free week-long intensive program where students will work on leadership and valuable life skills, attend college preparatory workshops, meet U.S senators and representatives and other high ranking Latino leaders. Students will have the opportunity to tour the White House, the U.S Capitol, Department of Justice, Supreme Court, and many more! Google Hispanic College Fund Scholarship Program

The Google Scholarship Program offers funds to students studying computer science or computer engineering who are juniors or seniors in college, or pursuing a Master's or PhD. Selected scholars will be invited to an all-expenses paid trip to the Google Headquarters in California in the summer of 2012.

Amount of Each Scholarship: $10,000

General HCF Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be of Hispanic background
  • Must be studying at an accredited university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico for the upcoming academic year
  • Must be (or plan to be) enrolled full-time for the upcoming academic year
  • Must have a minimum GPA of a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Must demonstrate financial need

Google Scholarship Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Must be pursuing a Computer Science or Computer Engineering degree, or a degree in a closely related field (such as Software Engineering)
  • Must maintain a record of strong academic performance
  • Must be entering junior or senior year of undergraduate study or enrolled in a graduate program in the 2012-2013 academic year at a university in the United States or Puerto Rico

Disney Friends for Change Grant

Disney Friends for Change Grants offer young change-makers an opportunity to receive a $1,000 grant to help make a lasting, positive change in the world.

What we're looking for? Projects that highlight the creativity and commitment of young people working to meet the needs of others.

The goal? Showing how even small actions can add up to big changes.

Whether you are passionate about protecting the planet, providing meals to those who need it or giving kids just like you the resources they need to star in their own play, be an athlete or an artist, you can be a Friend for Change! Whatever your interests, a Disney Friends for Change Grant can help you make a difference for people, communities and the planet.

Youth ages 5-18 located in all 50 states and the District of Columbia are eligible to apply for a $1,000 grant. Please note: To be eligible to lead a Disney Friends for Change grant, you must be between the ages of 5 - 18. Legally, if you are younger than 13, you must have someone older than 13 prepare and submit the application for you.

Applications are due by midnight February 29th, 2012.
