I attend Las Cruces High School. At the moment I am an Activist for the DREAM Act and have been going to conferences and collecting signatures from students. I was 1 out of 9 students selected in the state to participate in the 2009 ENLACE Legislative Internship. If I had not received help at the HYS on my public speaking and leadership skills, I don't think I would have had the confidence to apply to this internship or to speak to the student council from NMSU about the DREAM Act.
I am also part of ENLACE Class (Engaging Latino Communities for Education) and I am part of the LCHS performing dance team. I am also a volunteer at the Gospel Rescue Mission, where I am in charge of guiding families to get clothes, food, toiletries and a place to stay.
I am actually planning to obtain my masters in Social Work from NMSU and afterwards a doctorate in law at UNM. I hope to some day become a legislator and also obtain a degree in business.
