 Daniel McDonald Year and Location of HYS:2007 HYS Greater Washington DC High School: Thomas Edison High School School currently attending: University of South Florida St. Petersburg, 2012 What did you get out of attending HYS? I got a boost of confidence and motivation out of the Hispanic Youth Symposium. From life changing stories being shared to networking with people who are willing to help Hispanic students in the United States. At first I wanted to go to college, but the route that I was taking was taking me to community college. After HYS is when I really found myself wanting to go to a actual 4 year university and to win scholarships to live in the dormitories and to pay for my classes. The motivation and confidence was exactly what I needed and why I thank all of my success now. What are you educational and career goals: My goals is to find who and what I really am by deciding my major soon and to graduate at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg and hopefully pursuing my education in graduate school or getting a great job or internship.
