Hispanic Youth InstituteThe Hispanic Youth Institute is a year-round program that engages students from across the country in order to fulfill its mission and vision. Mission Through a community-based network of partners, alumni, volunteers and sponsors, the Hispanic Youth Institute works with at-promise Hispanic high school students to educate and inspire them to achieve a college education, pursue a professional career in business, science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), and give back to their communities as leaders capable of affecting change. Hispanic Youth Symposium The Hispanic Youth Institute is kicked off by the Hispanic Youth Symposium, a four-day, three-night program that brings 200-400 Hispanic high school students to a college campus for workshops on accessing and affording college. At the symposium students:
Throughout the following school year, the Hispanic Youth Institute helps students build on the information learned at the symposium through a series of college and career workshops. By participating in the Hispanic Youth Institute, students will meet high school students with high aspirations, near peer mentors, Hispanic professionals, and community leaders.
