Dear scholarship applicants,

Our main office in Washington, D.C. was closed due to inclement weather since the afternoon of Friday, February 5th until Friday, February 13th .  We apologize if we have not yet responded to phone, e-mail, and/or message center inquiries you may have made over the last few days.  

Because we have been unable to respond to all applicant questions during this time, we have decided to extend the scholarship deadline to February 23^rd, 2010. Please complete your scholarship application as soon as possible. Below are some FAQs to answer any questions you may have. If you have an additional question, please contact us via the Message Center on our scholarship website (http://scholarships.hispanicfund.org).

FAQs

I mailed my documents, but on my application it still says "pending". 

Due to the inclement weather we have been unable to process any documents that have arrived after Jan. 15^th. We ask you to give us another 2-3 weeks to process your mail. If you mailed your documents before January 15^th, please contact us via the Message Center. 

Which documents do I need to mail?

For a list of all the documents you need to mail to our office, please go to http://scholarships.hispanicfund.org/applications/subsectionid.1,pageid.231/default.asp.  

My recommender has not received an email with instructions on how to submit the letter of recommendation.

Log in to our scholarship website. Under section 2: letter of recommendation you will see an envelope icon. Click on the envelope icon, add a personal message if you would like, and click send. If your recommender still doesn't receive an email, please contact us via the Message Center.

How do I submit the letter of recommendation?

Log in to the scholarship website and go to Section 2: Letter of Recommendation.  There you must enter the name, email address, and phone number of your recommender. An automated email address will go out to your recommender that night with instructions on how to submit the letter on your behalf. Please remember that you must submit your essay in Section 1 in order to have access to Section 2.

When and how will I be notified if I won a scholarship?

All applicants will be notified via email in mid June.

When will your office open again?

The office is open as of Friday, February 13, 2010.
