What exactly is the HCF University Chapter?
The HCF University Chapter is a student run and operated entity of the Hispanic College Fund that is officially recognized by the University as a student organization. The Chapter consists of the Executive Board Members along with its General Body Constituents. The Executive Board works closely with the National Director of College Student Leadership to devise events and programs for the Chapter to implement. These year-round events focus on the core components ofProfessional Development, Academic Success, Community Involvement, and Leadership Development.
Why are the benefits of becoming part of the HCF University Chapter?
The benefits for becoming part of the HCF University Chapter are endless. As a member, you will be one of the first individuals to hear about scholarship, fellowship, and internship opportunities along with various networking events from your particular region. You will also be highly considered for many of the other programs that the Hispanic College Fund offers, including the Hispanic Youth Institute, the Hispanic College Fund Scholarship Program, the Hispanic Professionals Institute, the NASA MUST Project, among other opportunities HCF offers. Another benefit is the programming and events that the Chapter hosts, which include highly qualified and trained workshop presenters that come from many of our sponsors. These presenters are individuals that have direct ties to human resources and are often those conducting the interviews for internship and employment opportunities. Finally, you will gain the extensive network that the Hispanic College Fund has. This network provides a variety of opportunities that will further develop you as both a leader and professional beyond your college years.
Where are HCF University Chapters located?
Currently, we are located at three universities in the nation: Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, California; University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. We anticipate expanding to three additional universities during the Fall 2011 and Spring 2012 academic school years.
How do I become involved with the HCF University Chapter?
To become involved with the HCF University Chapter, please contact the Chapter president at your University. He/She will provide you with a list of events and meeting times that you can attend.
If there isn’t a HCF University Chapter at my school, can I start my own?

Is the HCF University Chapter membership only for students who have participated in HCF programs?
No. The HCF University Chapter has an open membership policy for any individuals that attend the university where the Chapter is located. You can receive the benefits of the Hispanic College Fund by becoming an active member within the Chapter itself.
I am currently involved in another organization; can I still join the HCF University Chapter?
Yes! Like many students in college today, becoming part of multiple organizations has many benefits. Thus, being part of this Chapter will allow you to further develop and become a Leader on both your campus and in your community. In addition, you would become part of the national network that HCF has, and you can receive high quality development in a variety of areas.
