NASA MUST Project
National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) funds the Motivating Undergraduates in Science and Technology (MUST) project through a cooperative agreement with the Hispanic College Fund. MUST prepares high-achieving undergraduates for the STEM workforce and is the only scholarship program at NASA for underserved and underrepresented students. Roughly 100 students make up each yearly cohort of MUST scholars.
MUST selects undergraduates who aspire to become tomorrow's researchers, scientists, and innovators. Participation is highly competitive and open to rising sophomores and rising juniors may apply.
The MUST Project supports 100 undergraduate students with:
- A one year scholarship of up to half of tuition and fees, not to exceed $10,000.
- The opportunity to participate in a paid 10-week NASA summer internship at one of ten NASA field centers.
- The MUST Professional and Academic Support System (PASS), which provides scholars with tutoring, mentoring, and access to various professional development activities.
The MUST scholarship is renewable throughout the senior year of college, provided the scholar continues to meet eligibility requirements.
