Impact
Since its inception in 2004, the Hispanic Youth Institute has expanded to eight communities and has served over 3,700 high school students. The program continues to inspire Latino youth to graduate from college, become professionals, and give back to the community.
Based on national alumni post surveys dating back to 2004,
- 75 percent of alumni achieve a bachelor’s degree within six years of graduating from high school
- 50 percent of alumni pursue careers in business, health care, or STEM
- 65 percent of alumni report having volunteered at least four hours/month in the previous six months
Following the kick-off of the 2010 Hispanic Youth Institute,
- 99 percent of alumni agreed with the statement “I am going to college”
- 55 percent said they were going to pursue careers in business, health care or STEM
- 95 percent said they were confident in their ability to make a difference in their community.
Program Awards & Recognition

If we maximize the number of Latino students that traverse the HCF pipeline, then they can contribute as productive and knowledgeable citizens. Our students will perpetuate a college-going culture among their peers and create a future where developing the next generation of Hispanic professionals is no longer just HCF’s mission – it’s their mission, too.
