Los Angeles Hispanic Youth Institute Commences Year-Round Programming
LOS ANGELES (Sept. 28, 2011) – About 150 alumni of the Los Angeles Hispanic Youth Institute (HYI) summer programs are meeting in their high schools to strategize ways to bring college and career programming to their parents and peers in the coming school year. The students, who attended college residencies at UCLA in 2009, 2010 and 2011, are joining Hispanic College Fund (HCF) staff members and volunteers for lunch meetings at Belmont, Roosevelt and Santee senior high schools to plan their upcoming activities.

Jason Acosta Joins the Hispanic College Fund to Help Develop the Next Generation of Hispanic Professionals
LOS ANGELES (June 13, 2011) – The Hispanic College Fund is pleased to announce that Jason Acosta has joined their staff as the new Director of the Hispanic Youth Institute, Los Angeles. A native of Los Angeles, Acosta is a 2010 Yale graduate and former Coordinator of the Maryland and Washington, DC Hispanic Youth Institutes. Jason comes to the organization having served as an intern with the U.S. Department of Commerce and as the La Casa Cultural Staff Coordinator with the Yale University Latino Cultural Center. Acosta also has experience working on local political campaigns and in the policy sector.
