Scholarship Reviewers

Would you like to volunteer as a Hispanic College Fund Scholarship Reviewer? With the help of volunteers like you, the Hispanic College Fund is able to award scholarships to Hispanic students who are often the first in their family to go to college, and whose average GPA and family income are 3.5 and $30,000, respectively. These are truly inspiring individuals! By joining the Scholarship Selection Committee, you will have a tremendous impact on these students’ lives.
As a committee member you should possess the following qualities:

Be a college graduate, preferably a working professional in the business, science, technology, engineering or math field

Have the ability to assess applicants’ academic strengths, career potential and commitment to education

Believe in HCF’s commitment to increase diversity in various careers

Empathize with applicants’ personal history of overcoming challenges
As a committee member you will:

Assess and score approximately 20 scholarship applications online. Once registered with HCF, you will be provided access to our application review website

Donate your time to review the applications you are assigned. Each application should take between 15 to 30 minutes to review

Be provided with detailed guidelines, program background information and access to HCF staff to assist you in evaluating each application as objectively as possible

Help HCF accomplish its mission to provide worthy Hispanic students with the vision, resources, and mentorship needed to attain successful careers and become community leaders

Reviews will take place in March and April of 2012.
Session A: March 17th – 28th, 2012
Session B: April 4th – 15th, 2012
